CHITTAGONG: Police detained six people with 26 gold bars in their possession from Panchlaish Thana Forest Gate area in Chittagong port city on Monday.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, port city police deputy-commissioner (North) Paritosh Ghosh said that on tip-off, police checked a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and seized 18 gold bars and nabbed three.

Later, they also checked a private car in the same area and seized eight gold bars. Police also nabbed three people of the car.

According to the deputy commissioner, one of the detainees Shafiul brought the gold bars from Dubai. He along with other associates held a meeting at a house in Hill View. Later, they were going to handover the gold bars being divided into two groups.
