Shab-e-Qadr tonight

DHAKA: The holy Shab-e-Qadr or Lailatul Qadr, superior to thousand nights as per the holy Quran, is set to be observed Tuesday night through offering special prayers for wellbeing of the Muslims.

The Muslims believes that the first verses of the holy Quran was revealed upon Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on this night to show the mankind the path of worldly and eternal salvation.

It is considered as the night of fortune and forgiveness as the angels and the spirit descend on earth by the permission of Almighty Allah.

President M Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Leader of the Opposition Begum Raushan Ershad and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia greeted the countrymen and the Muslims across the world on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Qadr.

In separate messages they prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and the Muslim Ummah.

The President, in his message, greeted the Muslims in Bangladesh and throughout the world on the holy occasion.

He said the holy Shab-e-Qadr is superior to thousand nights and it’s very sacred and full of virtues for mankind.

In a separate message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said “I pray to Almighty Allah for continued progress, peace and welfare of our beloved motherland and the Muslim Ummah on this holy night,” she added.

The Muslim devotees will pass the night offering special prayers, reciting from the Holy Quran, zikr, and other religious rituals seeking divine blessings for the wellbeing of mankind.

Moreover, they will visit the graveyards of their relatives and Muslim saints.

Special prayers and sermons will be arranged at Baitul Muqarram National Mosque and other mosques across the country in the night.
