DHAKA: A meeting between the members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and visiting Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was held in city on Sunday over the murder of blogger Niloy Neel.

The meeting was held at Detective Branch (DB) of Police office with the attendance of two FBI members and DMP high-ups.

DB police (east zone) deputy commissioner (DC) Mahbub Alam made the disclosure at DMP media centre this afternoon.

He said that it was a pre-scheduled meeting over the murder of another slain blogger Avijit Roy.

The visiting team also wanted to know about the murder of blogger Niloy and expressed their eagerness to assist in the process of investigation.

Over the killing of Avijit, the police official said that the law enforcers have identified the assailants and hoped to reveal the matter soon.

On the murder of Niloy, he commented that the investigation is in primary stage as they have sent the evidences to lab after collecting them from the spot.

‘We are taking assistance from FBI of using latest technology for proper investigation,’ he added.
