CHITTAGONG: Police arrested a person with 2,000 pieces of yaba tablets from Shah Amanat Bridge area of port city Chittagong on Monday early morning.

The arrestee was identified as Afzal Hossain (33), son of Abdur Razzak Mollah of Madaripur district and a resident of Arambagh in Dhaka.

Bakalia Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Mohsin told banglanews that Afzal, a drug peddler, was going to Dhaka from Teknaf in an air-conditioned bus of Green Line.

On a tip-off, police conducted the drive and arrested Afzal with 2,000 pieces of yaba tablets, tactfully kept in between two buckets, the OC added.
