DHAKA: At least seven persons including five members of a family were killed as a sand-laden truck rammed into a 3-wheeler in Tebaria area under Puthia upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

Six of the deceased were identified as Bidyut (35), Sumi (28), Bristi (26), Puja (10), Dip (6) and Rudra 6. They were returning from relatives’ house.

Puthia Thana Inspector Hafizur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Agitated locals set the truck on fire and beat its driver and helper.

The bodies were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he added.
