DHAKA: President M Abdul Hamid left for United Kingdom (UK) on an eight-day visit for treatment on Sunday morning.
He left Shahjalal International Airport around 10:15am by a flight of Emirates airlines.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, dean of diplomatic corps, cabinet secretary, chiefs of three services and senior civil and military officials saw him off at the airport.
Sources said the president will take his eyes’ treatment in London’s Moorfields Eye Hospital and heart’s treatment at Bupa Cromwell Hospital.
Abdul Hamid is scheduled to return home on August 31.
