DHAKA: The second Namaz-e-Janaza of Jatiya Party (Zafar) chairman and also former prime minister Kazi Zafar Ahmed was held at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) on Friday.
BNP standing committee member Hannan Shah, GAGPA president Shafiul Alam Pradhan, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s adviser Ahmed Ajam Khan, NDP secretary general Golam Mortaza, Jatiya Party (a faction) secretary general Haider Alam, leaders-activists of different parties attended the janaza held at 11:05am.
The third janaja of him will be held Baitul Mokarram National Mosque after juma prayers.
Then he will be taken to Chiorah Kazi bari in Chaudagram of Comilla district for his burial.
Earlier in the day, the first Namaz-e-Janaza of Kazi Zafar Ahmed was held at Tongi mill gate mosque adjacent to Ijtema ground at 8:15am.
People from all walks of life, including Gazipur BNP leader and former MP Hasan Uddin Sarker, Gazipur Sadar upazila vice-chairman Amjad Hossain Kaiser, Jatiya Party Tongi thana president Badiur Rahman, Jatiya party central committee member freedom fighter Abul Hossain, workers leaders, local leaders-activists of different parties attended the janaja.
Earlier on Thursday, the veteran politician breathed his last at United Hospital in city after a cardiac attack at the age of 76.
Born on July 1 in 1939 at an eminent Kazi family in Comilla, Zafar passed Entrance examinations from Khulna Zilla School and Intermediate examinations from Rajshahi Government College.
He had his honors and Masters in history from Dhaka University.
