DHAKA: Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will start selling advance tickets for its special bus services from September 16 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Tickets will be on sale at the BRTC deports in city.
Road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader made this assertion at a press conference after an inter-ministerial meeting on Tuesday.
According to the minister, a total of 1,043 BRTC buses will ply across the country.
He said that additional 502 buses will run from Dhaka to other destinations while 61 will be kept as reserve.
A 24-hour control room service will be provided from BRTC headquarters in city’s Allenbari area from September 22 to 28 on the occasion of the eid, he added.
Moreover, two alternative roads have already been open to ease the pressure of vehicular movement, the minister mentioned.
