RAJSHAHI: During decreasing the water levels, the Padma River is eroding the blocks of the dam due to strong downstream. Within last two days, 100 meters of riverbank has been broken near Bulanpur T-dam.

The Rajshahi Police line is also facing the treat of erosion and the people of the nearest areas are in fear of river erosion.

Rajshahi Water Development Board (RWDB) gauge reader Shahidul Islam told banglanews that due to decrease of water, the erosion has increased. But there is no treat for the people.



Required measures are being taken to protect the dam after visiting the affected areas, told RWDB executive engineer Harun-ar-Rashid to banglanews.

He said there was a protection wall but it did not help with this disaster. However, new blocks are being thrown to protect the affected dam and a tender has been called for piling up 10,000 Geo bags.
