DHAKA: A Bangladesh delegation, led by Bangladesh Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mosud Mannan, attended the XI International Uzbek Cotton & Textile Fair in Tashkent on Thursday, says a press release by Bangladesh Embassy in Tashkent.

The release also said that participants of the Cotton Fair “round table” put emphasis on the quality and quantity of the cotton.

Participants also proposed an option, that if the quality becomes inequal or the loss of the weight was found, is it possible to hold the appraisal in the premises of consumers, it added.

Participants also showed their eagerness in signing three-sided agreements by using the help of Agents. The possibilities of this issue were also discussed within the framework of the meeting.

The release added that Bangladesh delegation and the ambassador held a meeting with Ergashev Ibrohim Kenjabaevich, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and the Trade of Uzbekistan.

The delegation members congratulated for organizing the International Uzbek Cotton Fair successfully.

They said the Fair stimulated further development of market mechanisms in cotton trading, improvement of business relations between Uzbek producers and Bangladesh customers.

During the meeting Bangladesh delegation talked about the possibilities of reopening the airways between Uzbekistan and Bangladesh.


Welcoming the guests, Ergashev Ibrohim Kenjabaevich said that Bangladesh has become an integral part of the Cotton Fair which is held every year.

He also mentioned that Bangladesh is the one of the biggest buyers of Uzbek cotton.

The business which has been continuing for many years is giving its good results, he said. He noted that Bangladesh Embassy has been playing a huge role in this respect.

Bangladesh Ambassador Mosud Mannan also exchanged greetings with Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the inauguration program.
