3 burnt in city shoe factory fire

DHAKA: Three workers sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out at a shoe factory at Motisardar road in capital’s Bongshal area early Sunday.

The fire erupted at second floor of the five-storied Maximus shoe factory around 3:00am.

The injured workers are Alauddin, 19 (40 percent burn), Rabin Hossain, 20, (17 percent burnt) and Sujon Mia, 20, suffered burns in two legs.

Factory owner’s brothers Masud Mia said the fire originated from earthing in electrical network and engulfed nearby foam soon. Three people were burnt as they tried to douse the flame.

Then, victims’ colleagues rescued and rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. 

Quoting doctors, DMCH police outpost in-charge Mozammel Haque told banglanews that the condition of Alauddin who received 40 percent burns is critical.
