1st day talks of Indo-Bangla Jt working group ends

DHAKA: The first day’s meeting of two-day Bangladesh and India secretary-level talks on issues pertaining to security and border management ended in Dhaka on Monday.

The first day’s meeting of joint working group of the two neighboring countries ended at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in city this afternoon.

Sources said some decisions will be taken and instruments will be signed after the second day’s meeting on Tuesday.

Home ministry joint secretary Abu Hena M Rahmatul Mumin led the 15-member Bangladesh team while India home ministry joint secretary MA Ganapati led the 12-member delegation in the first day’s meeting of joint working group.

The India delegation will participate in a dinner to be hosted by the home ministry.

In the home secretary level talks, to be held on Tuesday morning, Dr M Mozammel Haque Khan will lead 18-member Bangladesh team while India home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi will lead 15-member delegation.
