CHITTAGONG: Law enforcers detained 129 people, including 23 local leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, in overnight drive at various upazilas of the district on Tuesday.

Of the detainees, 10 were Jamaat-Shibir men and 13 were BNP leaders and activists.

Additional superintendent (special branch) of district police Naimul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews on Tuesday morning.

Police also seized a pistol, two cartridges, seven locally made weapons and 11-liter liquor during the drive, he added.
