GAZIPUR: Two more devotees died of heart attack at Bishwa Ijtema ground at the bank of Turag river in Tungi of Gazipur district on Friday night.
The dead were identified as Joynal Abedin, 55, Golapganj upazila of Sylhet, Nurul Islam, 72, hailed from Ulipur upazila of Kurigram and Farid Uddin, 65, from Singra upazila of Natore.
The first phase of the second largest congregation of Muslims after the Hajj began through special sermons (Am-Boyan) after Fazr prayer on Friday.
Sources said Nur Islam felt chest pain around 11:00am on Thursday. Later, he has died before rushed to hospital.
Keeper of bodies Adam Ali said three devotees died of heart attacks at different times of Thursday night.
Of them Farid Uddin breathed his last in the evening, Nur Islam at 11:00pm and Joynal Abedin 12:45am.
The bodies were handed over to family members on Friday (January 8) morning, he added.
Earlier, another Ijtema devotee was killed in a road accident.
