DHAKA: European Union has expressed its satisfaction over Election Commission’s pre-election preparations ahead of next general polls.

EU ambassador to Bangladesh William Hanna expressed the stance to reporters after a successful meeting with EC on Wednesday morning.

The meeting commenced at 9.00am at EC secretariat in the city.

EU ambassador to Bangladesh William Hanna lead the EU delegates while Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rokib Uddin Ahmed lead the eight-member EC team in the discussion.

Terming the initiatives by the election commission as jovial William Hanna said, “The EC has taken adequate initiatives to ensure participation’s of all political parties for next general election.”

He also asserted that the meeting was held as per regular norms of the relations between EC and EU and EU would provide €10 million to boost up the aptitude of EC.
