DHAKA: The High Court Wednesday ordered the authorities concerned to determine mental condition of Oishee Rahman arrested for killing her father Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and mother Swapna Rahman.
The court also asked to send her to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from jail in this regard.
An HC vacation bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice Zafar Ahmed passed the order following a writ petition filed in public interest.
Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua filed the petition on Monday. He also moved for the petition in the hearing
The HC also ordered the authorities concerned to determine the history taking drugs by Oishee.
The court also issued a rule regarding the matter upon the government asking explain within four weeks.
Home Secretary, Law Secretary, Social Welfare Secretary, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner, officer-in-charge of Paltan Police Station and investigation officer of the killing case were made respondents to the rule.
On August 16, Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman, 48, and his wife Swapna Rahman, 40, were found dead at their Chamelibagh apartment. They were killed on August 14.
The bodies were found in Oishee’s bathroom and they bore several stab wounds, police said earlier.
Oishee left their house with her seven-year-old brother Ohidur Rahman and domestic help Sumi, 10, and left the house boarding on a CNG-run auto-rickshaw the following day.
