DHAKA: The first Namaz-e-Janaza of bangla film legend Anwar Hossain (82) is set to be held at Jatiya Masque Baitul Mukarram after Juma prayers.
Later, the second Janaza will be held at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) at around 3:00pm.
After completing the Janazas, he will be buried at Mirpur Intellectual Graveyard.
Earlier, he breathed his last at Square Hospital in city at around 2:00am Friday. He had been suffering from various diseases.
Sources said the actor was admitted at the hospital on August 19.
The artist’s wife Nasima Anwar said that their four sons would not see their father because Ivan, Upol, Firoz in USA and Babu lives in Sweden.
Anwar Hossain made his debut in Tomar Amar in 1961 and two years later played the role of the hero in Salauddin’s Surja Snyan.
His performance in Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula (1967) placed him permanently in the heart of millions of movie lovers.
In his long acting career of over four decades, the seasoned actor appeared in many challenging roles in about 500 movies.
Anwar Hossain was honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010.
The numerous films he acted in include Bishkanya, Shaheed Titumir, Binimoy, Jiban Theke Niya, Nijere Haraye Khuji, Golapi Ekhon Dhakai, Lutera, Shimar, Bhat De, Pension, Talachabi, Matir Koley, Tufan Mail and Marjada.
