Democracy doesn’t support violence

GAZIPUR: US ambassador to Dhaka Dan W Mozena said that democracy does not support violence.

He came up with the observation while addressing a prize giving ceremony at Pledged Harbour School and Sports Academy in Singerdighi village under Sripur upazila of the district on Saturday noon.

Dan Mozena said he expect that Bangladesh will turn into golden bangla through an election based on constructive discussion.

He also said Bangladesh will turn into a developed country in terms of cultural, agricultural, industral and engineering achievements by 204o and in the shopping sector, this country will be a leading country of the world.

Addressing the students, US ambassador said your essays reflected your vision to see Bangladesh in future.

Mozena also urged the teachers and guarding to become more conscious to use the merit of the students.

He distributed prizes among the winner students in an essay competition.

Chairman of Pledged Harbour School and Sports Academy ATM Saidul Alam and principal C Martin F Mye, Sripur UNO Aziz Hyder, Officer-in-Charge of Sripur Thana Amir Hossain among others delivered speeches on the occasion.
