SATKHIRA: At least 15 people were injured as a tornado lashed extensively at five villages under Dewhata upazila of the districts on Sunday.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) ANM Tariqul Islam said suddenly tornado lashed the area for few minutes around 07:30am that left 20-25 houses, shops trees damaged.

Moreover, many electric poles fell down and crops ruined in the field due to the natural calamity.

The injured were rushed to Dewhata Upazila Health Complex.

Deputy Commissioner of the district Dr M Anwar Hossain said upazila administration is listing and monitoring the victims.
