KHULNA: A college student was killed on Friday noon when a human hauler ran him down on Sheikh Bari Intersection of Khornia union under Dumuria upazila.

The deceased was identified as Sheikh Babul Hasan, 23, a 2nd-year student of Political Science of BL College. He also worked as correspondent of local daily ‘Tatthya’.

Witnesses said he was returning home from upazila sadar by van around 2pm when a human hauler, locally named ‘Nosimon’, knocked the van from behind.

Critically injured in the accident, Babul died around one hour after he was admitted into Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Dumuria Highway Police SI Moshur Rahman said,  “We are taking action as per rule in this connection.”
