Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Advocate Anisul Huq said BNP leaders are being arrested for criminal activities, not for political reasons.

He came up with the remark while talking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday (November 5).

The minister replying to a question, why IGP visited Secretariat said, “It was a courtesy call. We discussed the ongoing situation in the country.”

When asked whether there was any discussion regarding the cases against BNP leaders and activists, he said there was no discussion about this.
