DHAKA: Police held 96 activists of Chatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, from a mess of Dolphin road in capital’s Kalabangan area on Sunday morning.

Confirming the matter Kalabagan Thana Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Hossain told banglanews, “Acting on a tip off, police conducted raid at the mess in the area.”

After interrogation, necessary steps against the detainees will be taken, he added.

Earlier on December 24, opposition leader Khaleda Zia declared a program ‘March for Democracy’ for December 29. But apprehending subversive activities police did not give permission.
