Awami League’s former lawmaker from reserved women’s seat and Bangladesh Mohila Awami League’s former general secretary (GS) Pinu Khan passed away today (March 17).

She expired while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital in the capital. 

She was 71.

She left behind two sons, relatives and a host of well-wishers and admirers to mourn her death.  

Pinu Khan will be laid to rest at Banani graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza after Zuhr prayers tomorrow.

Born on February 2, 1952, in Dhaka, Pinu Khan was a valiant freedom fighter. Her husband late Shamsul Alam Babu was also a valiant freedom fighter as well as one of the organisers of the liberation war. Martyred intellectual Dr Bahauddin Ahmed was her father-in-law.
