PABNA: The daylong hartal, called by Jamaat-e-Islami, observed in the district on Tuesday protesting the arrest and demanding release of Jamaat Secretary Abu Taleb Mandal and town Shibir president Ariful Islam.

All types of inter-district vehicles services remained stopped but rickshaws, battery-run easy-bike and other light vehicles were seen plying in the internal routes of the district, reports banglanews correspondent.

Additional police forces were deployed at various important places of the district to avert any untoward situation.
