People vandalized the residence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in the capital's Dhanmondi area this afternoon.

Thousands of protesters are seen entering the minister's residence breaking the entrance.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and left the country for Agartala in India via a helicopter.

Later in the day, Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman said an interim government will be formed and they will go to the President.
