Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has blocked the bank accounts of the former state minister for information and broadcasting, Mohammad A Arafat and his wife Sharimin Mushtarir.

A directive was issued on Monday (August 12) in this regard. 

On Sunday, BFIU instructed all banks in the country to freeze the accounts of former foreign minister Hasan Mahmud and his family members.

Hasan was detained at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) while attempting to flee the country on August 6.
