NETROKONA: Madan upazila BNP called 48-hour hartal in the upazila from Friday morning protesting the death penalty of former home minister Lutfuzzaman Babar in the 10-truck arms haul case.

Upazila BNP president MA Hares made the announcement on Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Mohanganj, the electoral area of Babar, upazila BNP called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in the upazila for Friday in this connection.

Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Madan Thana Samsul Alam Siddiqui told banglanews that police were kept alert to avert any untoward situation during the hartal hours.
