The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has deferred its democracy rally to Tuesday due to the inclement weather.
On Saturday night, BNP Standing Committee member AZM Zahid Hossain made the announcement at a press conference held at the party chairperson’s political office at Gulshan.
The programme was scheduled to be held in front of the BNP central office at Naya Paltan on Sunday, marking International Day of Democracy.
Zahid Hossain said the rally will be held on Tuesday now and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman will attend the event virtually from London.
However, in other divisional cities, the party will hold programmes on Sunday as per the previous announcement, he added.
