DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Thursday placed six leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Mirpur Bangla College unit on a one-day remand in an arm case.    

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M Tareque Mainul Islam Bhuiyan granted the remand after Sub-Inspector Sheikh Tajuddin Ahmed of Darussalam Thana produced them before the court with five-day remand plea.

The accused are Bangla College dormitory BCL unit general secretary Zahirul Haque Shishir, joint general secretary Sohel Rana Anik, organizing secretary Kazi Imran, executive committee member Sohel Rana and activists Afzal Hossain and Abul Bashar.

On February 4, law enforcers arrested all of them in a raid at the college dormitory with a foreign pistol, three magazines, 14 round bullets, 19 daggers and a machete.
