DHAKA: Three months after their last meeting, BNP standing committee held a meeting at the Naya Paltan office on Thursday night.

This was also the first meeting of the committee after January 5 general elections.

Party sources said that the committee members emphasized on the needful actions after the general elections.

They also discussed about reforming all the expired and inactive committees.

With BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in the chair, RA Gani, Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barrister Zamiruddin Sarker, MK Anwar, Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Bri Gen (retd) ASM Hannan Shah, Begum Sarwari Rahman, Dr Abdul Moin Khan, Mirza Abbas and acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir among others were present in the meeting.

BNP standing committee held its last meeting on October 29, 2013.
