CHITTAGONG: Police on Monday submitted charge sheeted against nine people including Mufti Izharul Islam, senior Nayeb-e-Ameer of Hefazat-e- Islam in a case of explosion in madrasa in the port city.

Investigation Officer sun-inspector Lokman Hossain submitted the charge sheet to general register department of the metropolitan court.

Some 46 people were made witnesses in the cases.

SI Lokman said three cases were filed in this connection. Of those, the charge sheet has been submitted in the case filed under explosive act (sections 3,4).

On October 7, 2013, five people were injured in a blast at Jamiatul Uloom Al-Islamia Lalkhan Bazar, a Qawmi madrasa run by Izharul, at Lalkhan Bazar. Later, two of them succumbed to their injuries.
