BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his historic victory in the US presidential election.

“We look forward to a future of stronger ties and collaboration between our nations,” Tarique said in a statement on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday. Tarique, who is the elder son of late BNP founder President Ziaur Rahman, is currently residing in London.

Tarique highlighted that Trump’s win reflects the strength of America’s democratic values.

“The people of Bangladesh are eager to advance with their own free and fair elections, reinforcing our shared commitment to democratic principles and fundamental freedoms,” he added.
