DHAKA: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday categorically said Awami League failed to do better results in Upazila Parisad polls due to “organizational weakness” in the party.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the observation while addressing a discussion meeting at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium at Dhaka University in the evening.

He said, “We are happy as we became successful to make the upazila elections fair but not satisfied with the results as we could not do well.”

Obaidul Quader claimed that because of organizational weakness Awami League made bad result.

With Chhatra League President HM Badiuzzaman Sohag in the chair, the discussion meeting, were discussed, among others, by General Secretary Siddiqui Nazmul Alam, former foreign Secretary Syed Moazzem Ali.
