DHAKA: Police detained 22 persons including BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men in a 24-hour drive in different parts of the city.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media and publication relations department deputy police commissioner (DC) Masudur Rahman said that the drive was conducted from 10:00am on Tuesday to 10:00am to Wednesday.

He said that these people were nabbed in interest of public security as a group of miscreants have been carrying out subversive activities during the nationwide blockade.

The detainees include BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men, he added.

Without disclosing their names, the DC said that legal actions will be taken against them later following the interrogation.
