MONGLA: The voting in Chila Union, in by-election of the Union Parisad of Mongla Upazila of Khulna district, ended.

The voting started from 8:00am and ended at 4:00pm Saturday.

The numbers of voters in the upazila are 12,138 of whom, male 5,943 and female 6,169.

Mongla’s Chila Union Parisad Chairman Sheikh Mozaharul Islam passed away recently and the post became vacant.

Coast guard, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Police forces were deployed in nine polling centers of the union.
