DHAKA: The High Court on Monday granted six months bail to BNP Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman in cases filed for vandalism and subversive acts.
An HC bench of Justice Borhanuddin and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order after a hearing on bail petition of the BNP leader in five cases
Advocate Jaynul Abedin and Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury moved for the petitioner while Deputy Attorney General Md Selim stood for the government.
Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury said that Amanullah Aman was granted bail in the five cases of vandalism and violence. There is no legal barrier for Amanullah’s release from the jail following the order of the court, he added.
However, the cases were filed with Keraniganj and Savar police stations in November last year for his alleged involvement in vandalizing vehicles and creating violence during anti-government demonstration of BNP-led 18-party alliance.
