Olifa Akhter Kanta Islam, wife of BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, has passed away.

She breathed her last on Tuesday (March 18) afternoon at United Hospital in Dhaka, BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed to journalists.

Olifa Akhter, 70, had been suffering from illness for a long time. She is survived by her husband, a son, a daughter, grandchildren, and many well-wishers.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir have expressed deep sorrow over her death and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
