Khelafat Majlish has accused India of behaving in an unfriendly and unneighbourly manner by cancelling Bangladesh’s transshipment facility.

The party made the remarks on Thursday (April 10) during a meeting of its central executive committee.

Party leaders said India’s move to cancel the transshipment deal reflects its traditional unfriendly approach towards neighbouring countries. They also reminded that India depends on Bangladesh’s transit facility to transport goods to its seven northeastern states.

The leaders urged the interim government to cancel all Indian transit access through Bangladesh if India does not immediately reinstate the transshipment facility.
