Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), Tazul Islam, said that formal charges against ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be filed on Sunday.
Speaking at a discussion at the National Press Club on Saturday, he said, “We are determined to push the trial process forward.”
The event, marking the International Week of the Disappeared, was organized by rights group Odhikar.
Tazul Islam said Hasina as the “nucleus of enforced disappearances” and said progress in the case may be visible by December.
He also said that investigations into 10–15 major cases have been completed, with reports expected by June.
He acknowledged challenges in arrests but said efforts are ongoing to bring those involved to justice.
