A Dhaka court today placed former minister Rashed Khan Menon on a five-day remand in connection with the killing of jhut trader Monir during the July-August Mass Uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam passed the order after police sought a 10-day remand.

Menon was arrested from Gulshan on August 22, 2024. 

Monir was shot dead during a rally in Shahbagh on August 5, 2024. 

His widow filed the case on March 14, 2025.
