The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has issued a public notice ordering former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal to surrender within seven days in connection with a case over alleged crimes against humanity during last year’s July Uprising.
The notice, published in two newspapers today (June 17), warns that proceedings will continue in their absence if they fail to appear.
The tribunal earlier accepted charges against Hasina, Kamal, and ex-IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, with arrest warrants issued for Kamal and Mamun. Hasina is currently in India.
