DHAKA: BNP warned the government of dire consequences if their upcoming Teesta long march programme is being obstructed.
Party’s Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the warning while distributing leaflets at Elephant road area on Sunday.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that if the government put obstruction to the long march, then it would be proved that the government is backed by others.
The BNP leader also said, “The relation between Teesta and the people of the country is about life and death. And we have right to get share of the water, but India snatched away our rights making dam.”
Earlier, BNP announced a two-day long march of April 22 and 23 to the Teesta River demanding fair sharing of its water between Bangladesh and India.
