DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Monday claimed some 310 leaders and activists of the party were killed, kidnapped and disappeared from January 2013 to January 2014.
The spokesperson for the party made the allegation in a protest rally, organized by Dhaka city BNP protesting ‘false cases’ against Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, at the National Press Club.
“Some 272, out of 310 were killed and 25 others victims to forced disappearance,” he added.
Fakhrul also claimed that they had collected the addresses and photographs of the victims through party sources.
He also said that the prevailing condition of the country can be compared with barbaric countries of middle age.
BNP senior leader also urged countrymen to be united against this government formed by ‘animals’.
He also alleged, “The agencies of the state are being used as personal forces.”
With city unit convener Sadeque Hossain Khoka in the chair, among others party’s vice-chairman Abdullah Al Noman, chairperson’s adviser Shamsuzzaman Dudu, organizing secretary Moshiur Rahman and international affairs secretary Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon addressed the programme.
