DHAKA: BNP has alleged that its 16 leaders were murdered in Laxmipur district alone in last six months while six others picked up and remained missing since then.
Besides, the Laxmipur district BNP in a press conference in the capital on Monday, claimed 19-party leaders and activists were killed in the anti-government movement in Laxmipur.
“The government wants to stop the opposition voice and that is why it adopted the way of murder and kidnapping,” said BNP’s Students Affairs Secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, also a former MP from Laxmipur.
Addressing the press conference, BNP’s Joint Secretary General Mohammad Shahjahan and Laxmipur district BNP President Abul Khayer Bhuiyan asked the government to return back the leaders and workers who are missing.
