DHAKA: Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) chairperson Advocate Sultana Kamal said police now have become hostage to ruling party and they are using as tools to fulfill the political parties’ interest.
She said this while addressing a report releasing program at Brac Inn center of the capital on Wednesday.
In its reports, the TIB said there are inadequate financial resources and lack of quality staff in the parliamentary standing committees.
Although the budget allocation has been increased for the executive departments of the government, but there has scope to misuse the allocation due to autarchy and authoritarian politics, the reports added.
TIB executive director Dr Iftekharuzzaman also spoke the program.
