DHAKA:  BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy on Saturday expressed apprehension that party chairperson Khaleda Zia may be arrested anytime.

The BNP senior leader was addressing a discussion organized by ‘Deshnetri Parishad in city’s National Press Club to mark the ‘Fall of Autocracy Day’.

He also urged the party men to be ready waging anti-government movement, adding “wherever you stay and take preparation; so that you can come out to the street in time”.

Don’t wait for the order of the leader (Khaleda) as the government may arrest her anytime, he urged the party-men.

Gayeshwar also observed that people are not responding to the call of BNP as there is no similarity between BNP’s commitments and its works.

Presided over by Deshnetri Parishad president AKM Bashir Uddin, BNP volunteer affairs assistant secretary ABM Mosharrof Hossain, Gopalganj district BNP president Sirajul Islam Seraj, among others, spoke at the function.
