DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday deferred the charge hearing till December 24 against 26 BNP leaders, including acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in vandalism and torching case.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court Judge Tareq Moinul Islam Bhuiyan passed the order following a plea of Advocate Joynul Abedin Mejbah as the most of the defendants were not present in the court.
Though, the accused Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Chhatra Dal general secretary Habibur Rashid were present during the hearing.
The case was filed with Paltan Thana in the city under the Speedy Trial Act on charge of vandalism and arson on March 2, 2013.
