DHAKA: Police submitted sedition charge against BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka in a case filed for provoking party activists to go for violence ahead of a mass rally of the party on October 25, 2013.

The charge sheet was placed before metropolitan magistrate Mahbubor Rahman Monday.

Confirming the matter, Paltan Thana GRO Moyazzem Hossain said that earlier on Sunday evening the charge sheet was put forward by Paltan Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Tofail Ahmed.

On October 14 of 2013, the former Dhaka City Corporation mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka directed his party men to bring cutlass, axe and spear to make a rally, which was scheduled for October 25 same year in Dhaka, successful.

Following the speech, police filed a sedition case against the BNP leader with city’s Paltan Thana on December 7, 2013.
