DHAKA: The respiratory related condition of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has deteriorated.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)’s women wing Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal’s president Nure Ara Safa informed the media about the updates of Khaleda’s health Saturday.
She further said, “Madam (Khaleda) has requested all to pray for her for recovery soon. She also sought assistance for the restoration of democracy and urged people to be involved in the ongoing movement to protect democracy.”
A 9-member team, including Mohila Dal President Nure Ara Safa and vice-president Rowshan Ara Farid, brought meals for the BNP chief at her political office in city’s Gulshan area at 2:25pm on Saturday.
Staying for half an hour, they left the office.
However, the BNP chief was confined in her office for several days due to her call for anti-government rally.
According to the government, the BNP leader is not confined rather she has been provided additional security to avert any untoward situation.
In the afternoon of January 5, Khaleda fell sick as law enforcers threw pepper spray in front of the office to disperse the party leaders and activists who tried the break the confinement.
