RAJSHAHI: Police arrested acting secretary of Rajshahi city Jamaat Abdul Malek from his house in Chhoto Bangram Uttarpara area of the city Monday morning.

Boalia model thana OC Sahadat Hossain said the Jamaat leader was arrested in a specific case. He was an accused of a case filed by police with Boalia thana for creating indiscipline in the city, he added.

Hossain also said five Jamaat leaders were also arrested in the same case earlier.

Cocktails were blasted during a procession brought out by Jamaat on 15 May in the city. Later, police filed a case against 36 Jamaat men.
